Recognizing that the future of nuclear energy must be built upon all three aspects of safety, security, and safeguards (3S), the department has structured our programs to effectively cover the three aspects. Currently, we offer 4 main programs:
- Bachelor of Engineering in Nuclear and Radiological Engineering (B.Eng.)
- Master of Engineering in Nuclear Engineering (M.Eng.)
- Master of Science in Nuclear Technology (M.Sc.)
- Doctor of Philosophy in Nuclear Engineering (Ph.D)
All three graduate programs (M.Eng., M.Sc., and Ph.D.) are divided into two main fields of study: the nuclear engineering/technology field of study which emphasizes on technical and safe use of radioisotope and nuclear technology, and the security and safeguards field of study which emphasizes on the security and safeguards of nuclear materials and facilities. Students who are interested are given option and encouraged to take courses outside their field of study in order to widen their scope of knowledge of nuclear engineering and technology.
